Team India registered an emphatic win over the Windies camp in the recently concluded Mumbai ODI. With the win, the hosts now have a 2-1 lead in the series with the final game to play. After India’s defeat in the third ODI, the pressure was on the hosts to bounce back. The Men in Blue just did that and came up with a thoroughly clinical performance to win the 4th ODI by 224 runs.

In the match, it was Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu who lit the stage with their batting. The duo added 211 runs for the third wicket after Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli perished after getting early starts. Rayudu scored a quick century in 81 deliveries before heading back to the pavilion, while Rohit Sharma went on to score yet another massive ton.

India romp to another triumph

He scored 162 off 137 deliveries with 20 fours and 4 sixes in the match. The combined efforts of the two batters helped India post a huge total of 377 runs on the board. In the run chase, the Indian bowlers never let the Windies batters settle in. Khaleel Ahmed proved to be the pick of the bowlers with highly impressive figures of 3/13 in his 5 overs.

After the game, the good wishes came in flooding for the Indian side. Among the many who reacted to the game on the social media was former cricketer Virender Sehwag. The Nawab of Najafgarh cited the victory to be a good win for the Indian team. He hailed the batting masterclass of Rohit Sharma, who looked set for yet another ODI double. Also, the former cricketer had his words of praise for Ambati Rayudu.

Among the bowlers, Sehwag did not shy away from praising Khaleel Ahmed. He quoted the youngster to be very clever with his tactics on the day. Sehwag looked happy to see the series wide open with one match to play. The fifth ODI will be played at Thiruvananthapuram. While India cannot lose the series now, the eyes would certainly be on the Windies to see if they can level the series.

Here is what Virender Sehwag tweeted:

“Good win for India. Rohit was a treat to watch, so was Rayudu and good effort from the bowlers. Khaleel Ahmed was very clever today. Now Thiruvanathpuram with the series open #IndvWI,” Virender Sehwag wrote in his tweet.
