“The best way to get to a hundred and release the pressure is to hit a six!” These lines speak volumes about the man. The ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’ had a flourishing career in which he was known for decimating the opposition bowling attack. Sehwag in his groove is the last thing that a bowler wants to confront. While MS Dhoni is known for big finishes, Sehwag was known for giving big starts. In the recently posted Facebook live video, Viru talked about the current best batsmen in the world and players to watch out for in the South Africa-India series.

Players to watch out for

Is Virat Kohli ever out of form? When Kohli scores only 50-60 runs in a match, fans feel that he is out of touch. Such is the impact of this man on international cricket. Kohli is on a run-scoring spree and seems to be having hundreds for breakfast and dinner. Kohli is the key in South Africa to open the doors for the Indian victory. Sehwag expects the Indian talisman to take the attack to the Proteas as the ball will come on to the bat quite nicely. Kohli has to be at his best for India to remain on the front foot.

The other player who Sehwag expects to attack the opposition is Rohit Sharma. If given a chance at No.6, Sharma can change the momentum of the game as he is at his peak. Other players like Shikhar Dhawan, if they get to their 50s and spend some time out in the middle can cause problems to the Proteas. The likes of Rabada, Steyn and Philander form a formidable bowling line up and continuous focus and determination is required to stand a chance against them.

Best players in the World

Sehwag believes that Kohli, Joe Root, Williamson, David Warner and Rohit Sharma are currently the best players in world cricket. The best among these bests has to be Virat Kohli. The Indian has reached such great heights in his career that is unparallel and unmatched to any other modern day cricketer.

At present, Kohli stands tall among all the others and must continue to do what he does best for the team to have a chance in 2018. With a string of overseas tours, if India performs at least 50% of what they had done in 2017, they would remain the No.1 team in the world.

In his live video, Sehwag also spoke about the Sehwag international school where students are getting world-class facilities in the field of academics and sports. He also mentioned about taking a break from commentary in the month of January and February.
