Virender Sehwag praises Vijender Singh for his superlative win in Asia-Pacific Championship
With the superlative win, Vijender Singh is now the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight Champion and also the Asia Pacific Super Middleweight Champion.
India’s leading professional boxer Vijender Singh continued to rule the boxing ring on Saturday. The Haryana-lad registered his 9th straight win ever since entering the world of pro boxing. He continued his unbeaten run as he beat Zulpikar Maimaitiali in the Saturday marquee clash. Zulpikar Maimaitiali is the number one ranked boxer from China and beating him in the double title bout certainly showed the mettle that Vijender Singh has.
With the superlative win, Vijender Singh is now the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight Champion and also the Asia Pacific Super Middleweight Champion. Interestingly, the match was the first bout for Vijender in this year. Despite this fact, he did not look rusty at all and continued to maul his opposition as he has been doing in the past.
The Twitter world erupted with yet another Vijender victory. As expected, the good wishes came in flooding for the veteran Indian boxer. Among all the good wishes, the cricket fraternity wishing spree was lead by former Indian cricketer and the Twitter sensation Virender Sehwag. Sehwag is renowned for his comments on the trending topics on the social media.
Virender Sehwag’s tweet
Sehwag did not disappoint his fans this time as well. He came up with a very pun-filled and witty tweet to wish Vijender Singh on his superlative title win. Sehwag noted that the match was indeed a tough one and a closely contested one too. He certainly enjoyed the match with his bowl of Hakka noodles (a clear dig at the popular Chinese food).
Virender Sehwag went on to add a witty phrase to the congratulatory wish. He remarked that Vijender made his opponent ‘hakka bakka’ – an informal Hindi slang that means bamboozled.
“Tough match this, but congrat @boxervijender. Enjoyed Hakka Noodles while watching your fight & you made Chinese Hakka Bakka #BattleGroundAsia,” tweeted the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag.
