Virender Sehwag reacts to Shakib Al Hasan kicking stumps in anger in Dhaka Premier League
Shakib Al Hasan is being criticised for his actions on the field during a DPL game.
Bangladesh’s veteran cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has been all over the news for his on-field behaviour during the game in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League. He had completely lost his cool after the umpire denied an lbw call and was seen kicking the stumps in anger while being involved in an animated discussion with the umpire.
Later again, he uprooted the stumps with his hands after the umpire stopped the game in the sixth over due to rain. He was agitated with the officials and again was seen having a heated argument. The incidents took place during a game between Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club.
Shakib Al Hasan is leading Mohammedan side in the tournament and has since, apologised for his poor behaviour as well. “I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won’t be repeating this again in future. Thanks and love you all,” part of his statement on Facebook read.
However, the fans and cricketing fraternity is not at all pleased with the 34-year-old. Lisa Sthalekar was the first one to react on it as she slammed Shakib and now former India cricketer Virender Sehwag is also disappointed with Bangladesh’s most established cricketer.
Sehwag expresses in his own way
Virender Sehwag is known for his wittiness on Twitter and even on this occasion, he did the same while making it clear that he was not pleased with Shakib Al Hasan’s on-field behaviour. However, what made everyone laugh about his tweet was the picture that he attached to his tweet.
Sehwag hilriously posted a picture of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina holding Shakib’s ear. The picture is an old one when the Tigers had defeated Australia at home in a Test match. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the left-hander was also involved in a heated discussion with the Abahani coach Khaled Mahmud who also happens to be the BCB Director.
It remains to be seen if the board takes any action on Shakib Al Hasan in the matter. The umpires were expected to submit the report of the incident by the end of the day on Friday.
