It was entertainer Virender Sehwag’s birthday yesterday. The twitter space obviously was excited and was all prepared to celebrate his 38th birthday. From general fans to current and former cricketers, everyone dropped their birthday messages for him. The most amazing part was everyone tried mimicking Sehwag’s hilarious style of tweeting birthday wishes. The timeline was flooded with shayari’s one-liners and puns. Virender Sehwag was trending for most of the day. 20th October was quite eventful.
It was impossible for him to personally reply everyone. So, Sehwag chose the easier option of sending a video message. But, there was one guy whom he wanted to thank specially – Sachin Tendulkar. The ‘God of Cricket’ as he is called by the Indian fans tweeted: “He’s the sweetest man who has caused so much destruction! Happy Birthday, Lala!”

It seemed many fans asked the Nawab of Najafgarh was about the reason behind the nickname ‘Lala.’
“Thank you ‘Godji.’ You people must be wondering why ‘Godji’ calls me ‘Lala.’ It’s because I look like Lala first of all. Like the ‘fat baniyas’ or maybe because of my habit of keeping count of everything while batting. How many runs I made, how many boundaries and sixes I hit. Maybe that’s why he calls me Lala.”
The entertainment factor in cricket went two notches higher from the day the dashing batsman entered the cricketing scenes. His batting was all about being straightforward. He never spared anyone and all bowlers were equal in his eyes.
He only knew to attack the bowlers and all of them received the same treatment. But, then not everyone plays forever and the time to call it quits arrives. Sehwag too soon retired and fans were obviously dejected. But, little did they know that it was only a beginning of a second innings for Viru. Post-retirement, Viru entered the social media space and now rules Twitter platform just like the way he used to rule over the bowlers during his playing day.
