Virender Sehwag, the former Indian explosive opener has been enjoying his position behind the mic as a commentator. He has enthralled the world with his wit and humour and has often left his fellow commentators in splits at the commentary box. Also known for his spot-on answers, Viru is equally eloquent in answering his critics.
He had always been a storm in the eye of the Pakistan cricketers due to his batting prowess. The Pakistan bowlers tried their best as he replied with fours and sixes during his playing days. They didn’t refrain from hurling abuses or engaging in heated exchanges to disrupt his batting. But Sehwag had an answer for every tactic they played.
The former opener who is a Twitter celebrity owing to his witty posts has given a mouth shutting reply to a former Pakistani batsman when he threw a jibe at him. Rashid Latif who was one of the most influential batters of the day, took to Twitter to teach Sehwag a lesson because he was frustrated with the jabs and witty replies of Sehwag, which embarrassed other Pakistani players.
What he uttered from his lips, was utterly shocking and rather distasteful from a cricketer of his repute. Rashid reminded of a certain Chennai Test when our four big players failed to turn the proceedings of the match in Team India’s favour. He then laced his words with filth and spoke of Sehwag in a rather disgraceful manner. It is very clear that Rashid is venting out his frustration at his own team’s shameful loss at the hands of India.
Sehwag meanwhile took a rather dignified stand on the Twitter rant of Rashid. He answered in a sarcastic vein with an apt message: “A meaningful silence is always better than meaningless words.”
A meaningful silence is always better than meaningless words.
