Virender Sehwag was one of India’s finest openers. But not just that, he is also one of the funniest cricketers who has escalated his post-retirement with funny and witty takes on various issues on Twitter. Sehwag once again did what he is best known for these days. During the warm-up match between India and Bangladesh at the Oval, Sehwag, who always manages to make the audience laughed, mocked Pakistan in a way that the viewers were in splits.

During India’s innings, Sehwag took a sly dig at rivals Pakistan by saying, ”India practising with Pota before playing Beta.” Pota which means grandson in Hindi referred to Bangladesh and Beta – Son was for Pakistan. In the commentary box, this statement drew instant laughter. Later on, it sent social media into a tizzy as people started to post about the same.

Sehwag had earlier also congratulated the Indian women’s team for their victory over Pakistan in the ICC Women’s World Cup qualifiers. Back then he had written in a tweet “Congratulations for defeating Pakistan by 7 wickets in Women’s World Cup qualifier 2017. Ab to Aadat Si Hai !”

India vs Pakistan – most talked about clash in the Champions Trophy

India will begin their tournament campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4. This rivalry is probably one of the greatest not just in cricket but all sports.

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who is expected to play a huge part in the team was quoted saying, “This rivalry is huge, it’s very hard to put a finger and tell how huge it is. It’s probably bigger than the Ashes is. As far as Indians and Pakistanis go, I don’t think they watch this as a game of cricket. It’s more of a border rivalry. They put their emotions into the game. For the players it’s trying keeping their emotions aside and playing the game the best way we can.”

Pakistan have an upper hand over India in this particular tournament as they’ve beaten India twice and India has won just once.
