Former Indian cricketer, Virender Sehwag, is very vocal about his opinions and views on the social media. In the recent times, he has emerged as a Twitter sensation for his funny tweets and digs at his teammates. For every special occasion, Sehwag has a tweet reserved for sure. Recently, when the Indian hockey team beat the Pakistan Hockey team in the Asia Cup, Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to congratulate the men in blue.
He thanked the hockey team for giving the country an early Diwali gift with their superlative win. In the match, the arch rivals India and Pakistan locked horns in the Pool A encounter at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
The Indian team won the match 3-1 and were completely dominant in their approach. Sehwag was quick to congratulate the team as he wrote, “Congratulations India on beating Pakistan 3-1 in #AsiaCup2017 #INDvPAK . Thank you for the advance diwali gift @TheHockeyIndia.”

Soon, Virender Sehwag was joined by other former cricketer who congratulated the team on their herculean performance. Former cricketer VVS Laxman hailed the performance as a ‘wonderful’ one. He wrote, “Wonderful effort from @TheHockeyIndia to beat Pakistan 3-1 in Asia Cup Hockey. The whole nation is proud of you. #INDvPAK,”.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and cricket analyst, Aakash Chopra had a congratulatory message for the team too. He called the day as a ‘superb Sunday’ citing the win as the reason behind it. He wrote, “Well done @TheHockeyIndia for a convincing 3-1 win over Pakistan in #HeroAsiaCup. Superb Sunday.”
