Following India’s first medal in the Rio Olympics 2016, former India batsman Virender Sehwag has once again trolled Indian socialite Shobhaa De. The writer and columnist whose tweet sparked an enormous outrage have seen many sportspersons as well as many others who simply took De’s twitter account apart. Mrs. De will now be forced to take her words back after Sakshi Malik clinched a bronze in the Women’s Wrestling event on the 17th of August, something that will certainly be somewhat of a red letter day as far as India is concerned.
Earlier, Sehwag had written a note to the Prime Minister as well as the transport minister requesting them to name a train or a jet after Indian Olympians Dipa Karmakar and Lalita Babar. Moreover, the fact that the Indians have now clinched a medal makes it all the more important for the Indian socialite to withdraw her tweet.

Virender Sehwag has now sent his Twitterati into yet another tailspin when he tweeted following Malik’s bronze medal. Although it took a while to interpret Sehwag’s tweet, the tweet roughly translates to: “Medal Around Sakshi’s Neck is Looking very Attractive. That’s why one should never do things which do not suit them.”

In spite of not winning medals, the Indian athletes have impressed and won hearts of many. The first to do so was Abhinav Bindra who narrowly missed out on a medal having dropped his first choice gun. Dipa Karmakar also impressed by virtue of the fact that she reached the final of the Women’s Gymnastics event.
