It is former India fast bowler Joginder Singh’s birthday today and as expected we had Virender Sehwag wishing him on the special occasion. It would be brainless to write and explain the epicness of Sehwag’s tweet. Wishing personalities in his witty, punny style has become his trademark. No one has done it before and, to be honest, no one would actually be able to mimic him later on.

Joginder Sharma, the right-handed fast bowler, today celebrates his 33rd birthday. It is obviously celebration time for him but the special day became more special when Sehwag blessed him with his tweet. He tweeted: “Happy Birthday DSP Joginder Last Over Sharma ji. Jog Jog Jiyo.”

The interesting part of the tweet was how Sehwag tweaked his name, calling him as Joginder ‘Last over Sharma’ which clearly defined the fast bowlers greatest achievement during his short international career.

Joginder could play only 4 ODIs T20Is after making his debut in 2004. The Haryana seamer wasn’t regular in the team and got  very few chances. But, he was destined to become one of India’s World Cup heroes. The young team led by inexperienced MS Dhoni shook the world after they clinched the 2007 T20 World Cup by beating Pakistan in the intense final at the New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.

Pakistan, who were chasing 158 to win, had simmered down the equation to 13 runs from the last six balls. Sharma, the least likely option, was chosen by his skipper to bowl the the famous last over to Misbah ul Haq.

He successfully repaid the faith shown by his skipper and defended the total in the last over to hand India a 5 run win and the inaugural World T20 title. Bu, unfortunately, despite this limelight hogging show, He did not play another game for India since and that historic T20I eventually turned out to be his last international appearance.
