Virushka overthrow Suriya's position as the most re-tweeted post of the year

South Indian movie star Suriya’s new film promotion had Twitter go gaga. The actor, who unveiled his upcoming Tamil film Thaana Serndha Kootam had gathered 74,704 retweets in no time. While this tweet was declared as the Golden tweet a while ago. However, after Virushka’s wedding, Virat has overthrown the actor from the position.

The most awaited and talked about marriage took place in Tuscany, Italy in presence of people close to them. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are addressed by the name ‘Virushka’ and the news of their wedding has broken the internet on the day when they announced that they had married.

The Indian skipper’s tweet, an image with his wife and a message to all the fans got a whopping 89,139 retweets, and over 5 lakh ‘likes’ and counting. This tweet since then has taken over the South Indian actor’s status as the ‘golden tweet’.

Kohli’s second year running

With this tweet, Kohli also had the most retweeted tweet in India for the second year running. The last time that the 29-year-old had the most number of retweets was when he talked about his wife, Anushka. Last year, when the internet trolls were after his wife, blaming her for his drop in form, an angry Kohli tweeted asking everyone to show “compassion”.

A series of tweets by the trolls bwere around in the social platforms, which were aimed at the actress. The tweets mentioned Anushka as the reason for his batting downfall. This particular incident irked the skipper very badly amidst rumours of their break-up.

One of the other trending # this year has been incidentally another Tamil movie Mersal. The Vijay-starrer move was controversial in showing their message, and this had sparked an entirely different conversation on the different platforms. The # got over 1.7 million tweets in just three days.
