Vivo IPL 2016: Teams, players retained, released and purse balance

RCB released 14 while retaining as many numbers of players. Powerhouses AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, and Virat Kohli were the obvious retentions apart from players like Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, David Wiese, Varun Aaron and Mitchell Starc. The players released do not feature many exciting names as opposed to other franchise. However, they too have surprisingly chosen to leave T20 specialists Darren Sammy and Rilee Rossouw. Most likely, they might try to get both these players back into their squad.
