VVS Laxman comes up with a special tweet for Rashid Khan and Afghanistan
Rashid is considered to be one of the best bowlers in the world.
It was a historic moment for the Afghanistan team when they beat Bangladesh in the third T20I of the three-match series. With the win, they completed a dominant whitewash over a Test playing nation. After their herculean effort, the good wishes came in flooding for the Afghanistani team. Among the various well wishers of their side, the name of VVS Laxman stood out on the social media.
VVS Laxman took to micro blogging site Twitter to congratulate the Afghanistan team on their efforts. He exclaimed that a clean sweep was indeed special from them. Also, VVS had special words of praises for the young leggie Rashid Khan. Rashid bowled the all important final over in the game and successfully defended 9 runs to win the match for his side and complete 3-0 win.
It is worth noting that Rashid has shared the dressing room space with VVS Laxman in the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp. While Rashid is an integral part of the Orange Army in the IPL, VVS Laxman is the mentor of the franchise. Hence, the love that VVS showed for Rashid looked quite justified. Rashid had a phenomenal series on the personal front as well. He had bagged the Player of the Match award in the first two games of the series.
Commenting on the final game, Afghanistan slumped big time to muster just 145 on the board after a very decent start in the game. In the run chase, Bangladesh looked in firm command of the game for the major part of the match. However, they lost the plot once the wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim fell at a crucial juncture of the game. It was Rashid Khan who took his wicket to turn the course of the game. He then bowled the final over and did not let Mahmudullah cross over and win the game for the visitors.
Here is what VVS Laxman tweeted:
“Congratulations @ACBofficials on the clean sweep. Top effort from @rashidkhan_19 to defend 9 of the final over #AFGvBAN,” VVS Laxman wrote in his tweet.
