After CAC announced the Head coach as Ravi Shastri, Rahul Dravid was also included as into the ranks for specific overseas batting consultant while Zaheer Khan was appointed as the consultant for the bowling department. As Rahul Dravid also handles the India ‘A’ team and India U-19 team, former Indian batsman W.V. Raman is all set to take over from Dravid, and coach the Indian Colts in India’s tour to England.

Prior to their departure from Mumbai to London, a preparatory camp would be organised in Bengaluru. A member of the Jharkhand Cricket Association named Rajesh Verma was assigned as the manager of the team. The Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) approved the selection of Rajesh Verma as the coach. Rahul Dravid is scheduled to travel with the India ‘A’ team to South Africa, which is headed by Karun Nair and Manish Pandey. Dravid was appointed as the coach of the junior Indian team for two years.

Credentials of Raman

W.V Raman has been involved with the NCA (National Cricket Academy) for many a year now and has had a successful career in coaching. It won’t take him long enough to get accustomed to the bunch of youngsters as he is well acquainted with the lads. He has previously worked as the coach of prominent Ranji teams such as Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

52-year old Raman represented the country in both Test and ODIs and also has a century to his name in the limited over format. Although Raman deserved a better number of games for India, he concentrated on performing in the Ranji Level. He hit a purple patch in 1988-89, scoring 313 for Tamil Nadu against Goa, and for good measure notched up two more double-centuries, ending the season with 1018 runs, surpassing Rusi Modi’s 44-year-old record for most runs in a season.
