Wanindu Hasaranga is a trump card for RCB: Lalchand Rajput

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have made a positive start in the IPL 2022 with three wins in four league matches and are positioned at third place in the points table. Currently, the team is featuring in a clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The former Indian cricketer Lalchand Rajput analyzed the bowlers of RCB in this edition and their strengths in the batting department.

Lalchand feels RCB are in a good winning momentum, and the same is driving them in the tournament. He further went on to add that the Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is a very clever bowler and has the skill to take wickets in a consistent manner, and is the trump card for RCB in this season.

“Hasaranga is a very smart bowler and is ranked one in the ICC rankings. He certainly has something special in him and is very shrewd, and he is not afraid of getting hit. If you look at his bowling, he always tries to buy wickets, which is the skill of a leg-spinner. He is a trump card for the RCB team,” said Lalchand on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket Show’ on CricTracker.

The former Indian cricketer also discussed the skills of Australian fast bowler, Josh Hazlewood, who made his return to the IPL in Match 22 of IPL 2022 against CSK.

“Hazlewood is a good addition to the RCB squad. He can get early wickets with the new ball, bowls very good line lengths, and has a good bouncer as well. If he can take a few wickets, he certainly will put a brake on the opposition,” Lalchand added.

Dinesh Karthik is the best finisher at the moment: Lalchand Rajput

Lalchand expressed his admiration for the in-form experienced wicketkeeper of RCB, Dinesh Karthik, who is still unbeaten in the tournament. He feels Karthik is the best finisher at the moment and can make a comeback to the national team, provided he maintains the same form.

“In the last couple of years, he was with the KKR team and was really struggling, and could not what he could do, as he had the responsibility as a captain. But, in this edition RCB has given him the role, which is very clear. He is enjoying the role of a finisher and I think he can surely come back into the Indian team if he keeps up the same form. He surely is the best finisher at the moment,” Lalchand concluded.
