Was offered a farewell match after I failed the yo-yo test
Yuvraj Singh, during the media interaction, spoke about the yo-yo test which turned out to be a huge setback in his international career. However, he denied speaking much about the test at this point in time. But, he made it clear that he has got a lot to talk about the same, which of course, he’d do at a later stage. Yuvi said that he didn’t want to reveal anything as he didn’t want any controversies around the players playing the World Cup.
“In life now, I will have a lot of time to discuss these things and I will have a lot to say. I am not saying anything right now because India is playing the World Cup and I don’t want any controversies around the players. I want the players to be in the best space to go into the last four.
“I am sure my time will come to speak and I don’t want to be in that space where I have retired at the World Cup time… I have retired because I want to move on with my life and I am sure my time will come to talk about these things,” Yuvraj said as quoted by India Today.
He also revealed that he was offered a farewell match if he couldn’t manage to pass the test. Though, being the fighter that he is, Yuvraj Singh rejected the offer. “I was told… If you cannot pass the Yo-Yo test, then you could play a retirement match. I said I do not want a retirement match and if I do not pass the Yo-Yo test, I would go home. I passed the Yo-Yo test and the rest is not my call,” the 37-year-old added.
