Wasim Akram opines on Hasan Ali's dismal form in T20 WC, backs him to perform well
Akram added that Pakistan should help Ali get back his form.
Pakistan are having a dream run in the T20 World Cup 2021 having won all their three matches so far. They are almost sure of grabbing the semi-final spot and will play their next game against Namibia on November 02. Amid all this, there is one bowler whose form has been a matter of concern for them and that stands to be Hasan Ali. Ali has not been able to deliver his usual best in the three games so far and has conceded at an economy of 9.81 while picking three wickets.
In the same line of events, legendary pacer Wasim Akram has stated that Pakistan should support Ali and help him regain his form. It won’t be a fair idea for men in green to replace Ali with their rookie pacer, Mohammad Wasim Jr, reckoned the former speedster. Akram made a point that had he been the skipper of the team and his team would have been doing great apart from one player, he would have helped him get back on track.
“If I’m captain of the Pakistan team and my side is peaking apart from one player, who has conceded runs in one or two matches, my strategy would be to help that player regain his form and confidence and that can only be done by playing matches,” said Wasim Akram on A sports.
I will stick with Hasan Ali: Wasim Akram
“Mohammad Wasim will get many chances to play for Pakistan in the future, no doubt he is a talented cricket, but I will stick with Hasan Ali,” he added.
Talking about Pakistan’s run in the T20 WC 2021, they stand as the table toppers of group two points table as they secured stunning victories against India, New Zealand, and Afghanistan. They are all set to cruise their way through the semi-finals and will see Namibia in their next clash.
Pakistan’s run has been appreciated by several experts around the world as they look all set in all their departments and have made the best use of all their resources so far.
