The Bangladesh team had a moment early in the game as Taskin Ahmed drew Lokesh Rahul forward and lured him into driving the ball. Rahul was probably still in limited-overs mode and went for an expansive drive on just the fourth ball of the Test match. He dragged the ball onto his stumps and the visitors were all excited and celebrating. In the third over of the game Taskin bowled one down the leg-side to the new batsman Cheteshwar Pujara and everyone thought he was out.

Pujara was facing just his 5th delivery and Taskin was running in after getting an early wicket but this one was way too far on the on-side and though the batsman initially attempted to play at it but was nowhere to be reached. Bangladeshi skipper Mushfiqur Rahim dived to his left and pouched the ball really well which could have easily gone for a four. But what was surprising there was to see the Bangladesh fielders appeal.

Led by Mushfiqur, the slips and other fielders in the circle all had their hands up, the umpire was nowhere near to be convinced and ruled it not out. For a brief while, they also considered taking a DRS call but decided against it. A replay showed the ball was nowhere even near the bat and had a huge gap when it passed the batsman. The deviation could have been swing but there was definitely no noise and no one knew what made the Bangla fielders think he had edged the ball.

All this while Pujara had an expression on his face like, yea go for the review and waste it. He batted well and had a crucial partnership with opener Murali Vijay the duo took Team India to 181 before the No.3 who looked good to convert his half century into another Test hundred was dismissed on 83 by a good catch from Mushfiqur.
