Bangladesh managed to carve a narrow win over visitors England in the 2nd ODI. With the win, they kept themselves alive in the series. However, what changed the equation of the match was the controversial Jos Buttler dismissal. There was nothing controversial about the dismissal but rather about the celebrations that followed.

Bangladesh players, Mahmudullah in particular, took their celebrations a little too wild after getting rid of Buttler. Buttler found the celebration a bit ‘over the top’. He later asserted that the players need not jump into someone’s face to celebrate. He was furious on the field too and the on-field umpires had to separate Buttler and Mahmadullah.

Things did not end just there. The dismissal of Jake Ball saw England fall short by 34 runs. Jake Ball managed to hit one straight in the air to sweeper cover off the bowling of Mashrafe Mortaza. Nasir Hossain completed the catch and Bangladesh celebrated again. When the usual handshakes were being done, another ugly spat took center stage.

As seen in the video here, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal is seen shoulder barging an English player. Ben Stokes, the English all-rounder, did not like the gesture. He stopped Tamim Iqbal and got into an argument with him. Heated exchange of words followed between the two. Just when the things looked going overboard, Shakib Al Hasan intervened.

The former Bangladesh skipper could be seen separating Stokes and Iqbal. Ben Stokes never quite got over the incident it seems. He took to micro-blogging site Twitter to show his disappointment and anger about the incident. He tweeted, “Congrats to Bangladesh on the win tonight, outplayed us, what I won’t stand for is someone putting a shoulder to my teammate at handshakes.”

England skipper Jos Buttler later spoke about the same and reiterated that Ben Stokes is an emotional guy. However, he did mention that he wouldn’t do anything as that without a reason. He quoted, “Obviously emotions run high, and Ben is an emotional guy, but he would not have reacted like that if nothing had happened.”
