Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum never ceases to amaze on the field, be it with the bat or be it with his fielding. McCullum made an excellent save on the ropes in the match between Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils at Rajkot.

McCullum is known for his excellent fielding and has shown the same time and again. At Rajkot too, the Kiwi batsman was at his flying best when he stopped a certain six at long on. It was the 18th over of the Delhi Daredevils run chase when Ravindra Jadeja bowled a good length delivery, to which the batsman, Sanju Samson took a charge. Samson danced down the track and hit a ferocious shot to long on.

The ball kept going and was a certain six but it was the superman Brendon McCullum, who leapfrogged in the air, grabbed the ball in one hand and threw it back inside the field of play before he made contact with the ground. It was a fantastic effort by the Gujarat Lions fielder and he saved a certain six and kept it down to two.

Delhi Daredevils, at that stage of the match, were cruising to a comfortable victory. They needed just 8 runs off 18 balls in their run chase of 150. McCullum could have taken an easy way, but the dynamic fielder threw his body on the line and did what he usually does on the field – give his hundred percent. Although, the Daredevils were over the line on the very next ball as Samson hit a six over midwicket to seal the game for Delhi by 8 wickets!
