Watch: Dan Christian smokes the ball out of the Gabba for a 117m six

The BBL is a pure spectacle for the fans who love the aggressive brand of cricket. And, today, fans at the Gabba were treated with this six hitting fest by Dan Christian who hit a 117m six over the roof of the stadium.

It was the second ball of the 19th over, Luke Feldman pitched a length delivery to Christian who was batting at 32. He unleashed a powerful swing of the bat standing on the front foot. The ball blazed over the roof of the Gabba – 117 meters. The ball was hit cleanly without any hassle. It just kept flying and everyone in the stadium as well as in front of tube watched it disappear. It was monstrous. The hit was unbelievable and would have gone out of any stadium in the world. Christian was chuckling as Sammy went up for a fist bump.

Feldman lost his line and length after that and struggled to contain Christian throughout the over. He did not stop as two balls later as he smashed two more consecutive sixes to bring up his fifty off just 21 balls. The other two were also massive ones. The one that followed the 177m giant was 112m long. The third six came off a no-ball, which was hit with a flat bat straight over the bowler’s head.

In all, the Feldman over added up 25 runs to the Hurricanes’ total. It could have been even more if Sammy had not wasted the last two deliveries. The Hobart Hurricanes, eventually, finished at 194/4 after the end of 20th over.
