Watch: DJ Bravo turns a certain boundary into a wicket
Dwayne Bravo once again proved why he is the champion of the West Indies side after he pulled off an acrobatic catch on the boundary ropes to dismiss Indian opener Ajinkya Rahane. He also bowled a fantastic last over defending just 8 runs against MS Dhoni and KL Rahul and won the game for his side by 1 run.
After being set a mammoth 246 runs, the Indian openers Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma began with a cautious yet attacking approach. It was a highly challenging task but both looked determined batting at a brisk rate. But the partnership was cut short before it could dwell into something substantial with a beautiful effort by Bravo in the third man region.
It was the last ball of the 3rd over by Andre Russell. A shorter delivery on aimed at the body which Rahane nudged softly over the slips. The ball took a thick edge and went flying towards the third man fence. There was no fielder in the frame and it looked like it was an easy boundary.
But, DJ Bravo, who was lurking around the ropes, suddenly made an appearance and put on a diving effort to snatch the catch inches above the ground and leave everyone stunned. Rahane also couldn’t believe what had just happened. The timing of his sideways dive was absolutely perfect!
