Wriddhiman Saha’s gritty knock of 32 came to an end, as a flying JP Duminy took a blinder to dismiss the Indian wicket-keeper batsman. Wriddhiman Saha scored a fighting 32 off 106 balls, courtesy 4 boundaries. India lost their eighth wicket for 201 on the board, as Simon Harmer picked his third wicket at that point. India were all out for 215, as Harmer scalped four wickets for 78 runs.
Morne Morkel and Kagiso Rabada pitched the ball short in their first spells. While they were fast through the air, their 140kph plus deliveries went slower after pitching, and the batsmen were given the luxury of time. One short delivery from Morkel took so long to arrive that Vijay simply waited and smashed it to the wide mid-on boundary. Even the short bowling from Rabada, who was lethal against the India batsmen in the limited-overs games, was easy to face for Shikhar Dhawan.
Ajinkya Rahane never looked settled and he eventually lost his off stump to Morkel, the full ball swinging in sharply through the gap between bat and pad as he played a loose drive. Murali Vijay top-scored for India with a stroke-filled 40, courtesy a towering six and three boundaries. Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with a fruitful contribution (34), as Rabada cleaned him up. For the visitors, it was Morne Morkel who picked up 3 wickets for 35 runs before going back to the dressing room, citing an injury.
