News and rumours about differences between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were put to rest for once and all today at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It was a wide perception that there was bitterness between Kohli and his senior mate Gambhir after the ugly IPL controversy in 2013 which saw both the cricketers getting involved in a dirty verbal collision.

Gautam Gambhir, who made his comeback to the India team after a two years hiatus, took part in his first training session with the team. A small video of both of them talking and sharing a laugh along with wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha later began circulating on the social media. There was no hint of any discomfort between them and everything seemed fine.

Gambir made a stunning return to the team after being ignored during the initial selection of the squad for the home series against New Zealand.

The veteran opener’s comeback created a lot of buzz among fans. The left-hander was drafted into the squad as an immediate replacement for the injured KL Rahul who was ruled of the remainder of the Test series due to a hamstring problem in his right leg.

Talking about the IPL incident, both the players had shrugged off without giving much importance at that time.

“Some things happen in the heat of the moment…it’s nothing”, Gambhir said

Kohli also was cool, saying “what’s done on the field is done”.

However, fans have been since then speculating that both still share any hatred for each other. But, this small video of both of them having a fun conversation along with Wriddhiman Saha shows the bonding between the players.
