The 29th of October 2016 will be a red letter day as far as 26-year old Jayant Yadav is concerned. However, the fact of the matter remains that this has been a much delayed debut for the young spinner from Harayana who has been slamming the doldrums in the domestic level.

While the youngster has impressed for the most part in the domestic circuit, his ODI debut was rather quiet with most of the limelight being well and truly hogged away by the likes of Amit Mishra and Virat Kohli.

What’s more is that some more of the light was hogged away by the fact that the Indian players donned their mother’s names on their shirts, something that brought the sinister tear to the eyes of one and all watching proceedings unfold.

The Indians went ahead to claim a 190-run victory over the New Zealanders in what turned out to be somewhat of a submission of a New Zealand defeat as opposed to a hard-fought Indian victory. It was more bitter sweet when Amit Mishra concluded with a five-wicket haul.

However, in spite of all this, the most touching messages of all came from Jayant Yadav. The 26-year old from Harayana had picked just the one wicket on debut. Yet, it did not smear the fact that the Indians had claimed a win on the debut of Jayant Yadav.

At the conclusion of the encounter, the 26-year old was taped by the official twitter handle of the BCCI when he paid respects to his mother Jyoti, who has been his knight and shining armor in his cricketing career thus far.

In fact, Yadav would have liked to have two names on his shirt wherein he would have his first and second mother Lakshmi and Jyoti Yadav respectively. However, it was Mrs. Jyoti Yadav who stole all the accolades on Yadav’s shirt.
