English pacer Jimmy Anderson is a class act when he is in full swing. In a recent conversation with Mark Butcher, Anderson was bowling a different line though. Jimmy Anderson probably answered the most sought-after answer in cricket world today.
He was asked who the better player is among Joe Root and Virat Kohli. Undoubtedly, both Root and Kohli are masterly players and the stars for their respective teams. However, the debate never ceases to pick the better among the two players. Former cricketer Mark Butcher was quick is asking Anderson who he would pick up as his favourite player or the better player. His answer was not surprising at all.
“Always massive rivalry between England and India. One of the big things is going to be the battle between, your team-mate Joe Root and Virat Kohli. Who is the best player for you?” asked Mark Butcher.
Anderson took very little time in answering in favour of his English team mate. He remarked that both the batsmen are great players but have different techniques. He commended them for their ability to adapt to different conditions and play well everywhere. He believes that both batsmen are at the top along with AB de Villiers in setting standards with the bat.
“Joe Root, comfortably. They are obviously great players. I mean, both of them, slightly different I think, in technique. But they have both got the ability to score runs in any form of the game and adapt to conditions. That is what the best players in the world do and that’s why they are both right up there at the top with probably AB de Villiers alongside with them as well. Setting the standards with the bat,” answered Jimmy Anderson.
