Spectators at Abu Dhabi witnessed a funny incident, as Shahid Afridi bowled a short of a length ball that went for a boundary, all thanks to a touch from Kevin Pietersen was not ready to face the bowler. The ball went for a boundary but Afridi and his teammates were not very happy with the outcome. Interestingly, the ball could have gone anywhere, and Pietersen could have lost his wicket in a bizarre manner.

England were lucky to see the ball through, as Pietersen went on to score a handy knock and helped England clinch the match.

Umpires called it a legal ball and that was enough for KP to fetch a boundary. Such incidents have happened on a few occasions. Usually, when a batsman is not ready to face the next ball, he moves out of the zone before the bowler could deliver. But there have been times when it took a batsman little long to move sideways.

One famous incident took place some years back when Shaun Pollock almost got Virender Sehwag out, as the batter was not ready to take his mark. The delivery was called dead, and Pollock had to go back to his mark.

Pietersen scored two centuries in that series, as England thrashed Pakistan to a clean sweep. Skipper Alastair Cook took away the man of the series award while KP received compliments for his brilliant run.
