After a dominating start by Australia in the first session, the Indians have gained an upper hand in the match courtesy some brilliant bowling by debutant chinaman Kuldeep Yadav. The Aussies ruled the first session of play as Steve Smith and David Warner put up a wonderful partnership to steady the Australian ship.

But the solid partnership was broken by Yadav who replaced the injured Indian skipper, Virat Kohli who is currently recovering from a shoulder injury. The decision of introducing Kuldeep has clicked in all possible ways as he produced a beauty to dismiss a resistant Peter Handscomb.

It was a fantastic delivery which went through the huge gap between Handscomb’s bat and pad and struck his off stump. The batsman who played a very crucial knock for his country saving the third Test at Ranchi did not understand the delivery at all as he tried to drive the ball towards cover but failed to get any bat on it. As a result, Kuldeep bagged his 2nd wicket of the day leaving Australia in a spot of bother.

Handscomb’s innings was a short one unlike his long and important knock in the previous Test. The right-handed batsman could only manage 8 runs off 23 balls before falling to the chinaman who also squared up Glenn Maxwell a few balls later.

The youngster from Kanpur took a total of 4 wickets in the Australian innings proving to be the best bowler for India in the first innings of the final Test. Yadav has recorded 81 wickets in the 22 first-class matches that he has played and is also a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders for the 10th season of the cash-rich Indian Premier League.

Kuldeep also became the first chinaman bowler to play for India in the longest format of the game.
