Watch: Mohammad Amir bowls inch-perfect yorker to clean Misbah ul Haq: Tainted Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir has announced his arrival to the cricketing world. Amir, who is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), picked up figures of 4/30 for Rangpur Riders against the Chittagong Vikings. This performance earned him the “Best Bowler of the Match” award.
He was impressive throughout the innings. His 1st over on debut in the BPL was a maiden over to Lendl Simmons. In the 2nd over, he conceded just five runs and got rid of both the openers Simmons and Soumya Sarkar. Amir was brought back in the 15th over which turned out to be expensive as he conceded 17 runs. Misbah-ul-Haq and Thisara Perera dominated that over hitting him for three boundaries.
The match itself was in an interesting situation as Rangpur Riders need 22 runs off 12 balls and both the batsmen at the crease were smashing the Vikings bowlers with ease. Mohammad Amir held the ball in his hand to bowl the 19th over of the match. The first two balls yielded the wicket of Perera and just one run for him.
Fellow countryman Misbah was at strike to face the third delivery of the match. Amir was looking in very good rhythm and threatened to seal the match for Chittagong Vikings. The next ball to Misbah reminded every one of the immensely talented young paceman who got better of the best batsman in the world about five years ago. It was a sharp yorker at the off stumps. Misbah looked clueless and was clean bowled. Though he did his couldn’t win the game for his team.
