Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi, who plays the role of former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin in the upcoming flick ‘Azhar’, spent a good amount of time learning and honing his batting skills. Learning the game is a tough task but Hashmi didn’t have much to worry as the man there to help him out with the learning process was none other than Azharuddin himself.
Hashmi was seen putting in the extra hours preparing for his role in the biopic which is set to take the fans through the life of the former stylish Indian batsman.
The filmmakers released a video on Wednesday that shows Emraan learning the game from Azharuddin. The session appeared to be long and lengthy. Azhar looked totally involved and was seen teaching grass root level techniques to the actor.
The 37-year-old Emraan said that he has looked up to Azharuddin during his formative years and said the tips he receives from the former skipper has helped him immensely.
“His advice on everything is very clear. He doesn’t put too much pressure and make you feel bad that you don’t know this. He lets you be and slowly you see those parts of your game come out. And you get better,” says Emraan.
Azharuddin also spoke about the actor’s determination to work hard and great penchant for learning.
“He is very patient. He is a very good learner.”
All the advice from the master looked to working as Emraan was seen hitting some crunch hits afterwards. The movie ‘Azhar’ directed by Tony D’Souza and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and is slated for a May 15 release, this year. Prachi Desai will play the role of Azhar’s first wife Naureen while Nargis Fakhri plays the role of his second wife, Sangeeta Bijlani.
