Watch: MS Dhoni features in a promotional video for the MCL

India’s ODI captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni launched ticket sales for the inaugural edition of the Masters Champions League (MCL) with a special message in a promotional video. Dhoni was recently named the brand ambassador for MCL’s holding company, Grand Midwest Group, for a period of three years.

In the video, Dhoni says, “Hi, today, I am in front of you not as a cricketer but as a cricket fan. I have come here to tell you that our favourite cricketers are coming back to play on the field. Every fan will definitely say one thing for sure. We want sixer!”

“The Masters are back,” Dhoni says at the end of the promo as the kids cheer from behind.

The Masters Champions League (MCL) which is set to begin on 28th January next year is an exciting event which will feature retired legends of the game, had its launch event at the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, Dubai, UAE on 3rd June 2015.

The first match of MCL will be played on January 28 between Sourav Ganguly’s Libra Legends and Virender Sehwag’s Gemini Arabians, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The opening match will also feature the likes of Ganguly, Graeme Swann and Jacques Kallis taking on Sehwag, Kumar Sangakkara and Muttiah Muralitharan. The tournament will stage its final on 13/02/2016.

The fans will obviously be geared up to watch their favorite cricketers play once again, that too in the thrilling T20 format. Kumar Sangakkara, Wasim Akram, Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Graeme Swann and Saqlain Mushtaq are some of the great who will take the field amongst others.
