It was a nail-biting finish in the 2nd T20I between India and England at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur as the Men in Blue prevailed by 5 runs. Fortunes fluctuated from one side to another but in the end, 23-year-old lanky speedster Jasprit Bumrah bowled an exceptional final over to hand India a lifeline in the 3 match series.

With 8 runs required of the final over, Bumrah mixed it up with his slower ones and short of length deliveries which paid rich dividends and helped India level the series 1-1 with the final encounter to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore tomorrow.

During the high-intense thriller, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni again proved why he is the best leader around and the keenest observer of the game. The incident happened during the 8th over of the English innings when Dhoni realised that the LED lights of one of the bails weren’t working. Without a doubt, it was an exceptional observation from the swashbuckler from Jharkhand as it could have hurt India badly.

The fourth umpire came out with new bails but it wasn’t working either. It was perhaps the connection or wire problem which prevented the LED lights from flashing as it was also acknowledged by Nasser Hussain in the commentary box. England was placed at 45/2 at that stage after 7.1 overs when the incident occurred. Eventually, the problem was solved and we witnessed one of the most intense thrillers ever.

Despite the much-needed victory, Virat Kohli will be a worried man ahead of the decider in his 2nd home. The middle-order hasn’t really got going in the middle overs which have stemmed their run flow and has prevented them from scoring big on both the occasions. The visiting bowlers have executed their slower ones and cutters to perfection which hasn’t allowed the Indian batsmen to unleash the big shots, especially in the death overs.
