The Madhya Pradesh-born pacer Avesh recently registered his name in the history of IPL after he was purchased by LSG at a whopping price of INR 10 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction, making him the most expensive uncapped player of all time in the cash-rich T20 league.

The 25-year-old entered the auction with a base price of INR 20 lakh, but earned more than 25 times of that. Notably, the record was earlier held by Krishnappa Gowtham who will now be his teammate in the upcoming IPL season. In 2021 IPL auction, Chennai Super Kings spent a total amount of INR 9.25 crore to bag the services of Gowtham.

Talking about Avesh’s numbers in IPL, the right-arm pacer has played a total of 25 matches in which he has managed to scalp 29 wickets at an average of 25.83. He bowls at an economy of 8.23, but he is a genuine wicket-taker for his side.

The 25-year-old has been a regular feature in IPL after making his debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2017. However, his breakthrough season came last year when he scalped 24 wickets in just 16 matches for Delhi Capitals at an average of 18.75. The right-arm pacer finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL last season and bowled at an impressive economy rate of 7.37.
