Watch: Ravichandran Ashwin turns cricket expert and analyses Kane Williamson

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin today got the better of New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson with a peach of a delivery. Williamson had a decent time with a bat and managed to score a fifty in the first innings but his stay at the crease was brought to an end in a fantastic fashion by Ashwin. In a video published by Star Sports, Ashwin turned cricket expert to analyse Williamson’s various batting aspects.

Speaking of his consistency, Ashwin said that Williamson plays to his strengths and praised his consistency. “He doesn’t try to outreach his strengths with his limitations, so he is a very consistent player so as far as consistency is concerned, I will give him 94 (out of 100).”

However, Ashwin didn’t look thoroughly with hs ability in the sub-continental conditions. “When it comes to adaptability, I haven’t seen him play a lot in the sub-continent to be very honest.He has not gone to Sri Lanka, I suppose and this probably his full tour to India, so I’m yet to convince about his adaptability because Australia, New Zealand, the venues are pretty similar. And even in South Africa, I don’t think he had a great time, so I’m going to give him an 80 on that.”

Williamson, however, received 95 for playing well under pressure. Ashwin said he has won quite a few hard fought matches for his side.

“He is by far the biggest match winner New Zealand had, so, on the impact he should a 90 in my opinion,” he concluded.
