Watch: Soumya Sarkar opts for review after getting bowled
The Bangladeshi cricketers have made a name out of nothing for themselves in the recent times with their celebrations going horribly wrong on timings. The players continue to make a joke out of themselves while cricketing fans all over the world cannot stop trolling them. A similar incident took place in the second innings of the first Test in Sri Lanka when Soumya Sarkar got clean bowled.
The left-handed batsman left the whole cricketing fraternity in awe when he asked for review even after the ball rattled his stumps! This type of a hilarious incident has not been heard of since the introduction of the Decision Review System and Soumya Sarkar became the first ever batsman to pull off such a demand.
All this happened on the Day 5 of the first Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh when Sri Lankan bowler Asela Gunaratne’s delivery managed to beat Soumya sarkar and hit the stumps. While the umpire pointed him to make his walk back to the dressing room by raising his finger, Sarkar took the decision of going for the unexpected review.
This is the second issue of the month regarding the DRS, the first one being that surrounding Australian skipper Steve Smith. But this time it gave all of us something to laugh at rather than being a serious one. The incident not only surprised the audience and players but also the batsman himself when he realised what has happened.

The same Test also saw another thoroughly entertaining incident when Subhasis Roy started celebrating his wicket without noticing that the fielder already crossed the boundary before completing the catch. It’s high time that the Bangladeshi players increase the level of concentration and awareness on the field and stop embarrassing themselves on the cricket field. However, these moments define the funny side of the game overshadowing the tense moments.
