The Kolkata Knight Riders have been one of the most consistent teams over the years in IPL and a similar story continues even in the tenth edition. Playing 8 matches and winning 6 out of them, they have already sealed the top spot in the table with 12 points and a lot of admirations.
Besides being a top batting and bowling side, KKR also boasts off a star owner who is equally passionate about the game and his franchise. He is none other than the superstar Shah Rukh Khan. A man, who is busy with all his commitments never fails to celebrate his team’s victories or showing his presence in the stadium.
Year after year we have witnessed him getting enthusiastic from club house or doing a cartwheel on the ground or shouting out for his team in the stadium. Even this year he was seen in the first few matches supporting his purple army but lately he has been at Vancouver for a shooting thus missed to be with team.
As an enthusiastic and passionate owner he is, that does not keep him away from the game- he follows the game ardently and keeps sending messages congratulating the team on the social platforms.
The owner and franchise must be washing their hands on glee, the way the Knights are coming off each match with colours of victory, be it Narine giving the team great starts or the pace attack that triggered the lowest IPL total. How often has a chase of 180 been silenced just halfway through the inning?
At the MCA Stadium KKR clinched a win with Gambhir and Uthappa playing a great knock. Half centuries from both Robin Uthappa (87) and Gautam Gambhir (62) powered Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a seven-wicket win over Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS).
Being happy about another win for the team, SRK had sent a message right from Vancouver congratulating Gambhir and Uthappa for their knocks and the partnership that snatched away the match from Supergiant team. He also congratulated the young chinaman, Kuldeep Yadav for a successful over where he took the wickets of MS Dhoni and Steve Smith to give an air of satisfaction to knights when they were struggling a bit with the ball.
He also showed his eagerness to come back to India soon and join the purple army and sing along ‘Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re’
Gautam Gambhir and Co. are looking top draw in this tournament, with the batting and bowling contributing in equal measure. They are still dropping catches though, which will have to be addressed before the business end of the tournament.
