Watch: Temba Bavuma effects a run-out in the time you blink your eyes
South African batsmen had done their part; their batsmen posted 540/8 in the second innings and declared with a lead of 528 runs. Australia were up chasing an impossible total to win the WACA Test with almost two days to play. They got off to a decent start as openers David Warner and Shaun Marsh taking them over the 50-run mark. Warner was just starting to look dangerous and just then the most unnoticeable guy from South Africa Temba Bavuma got into the act and effected a brilliant run out to send him back.
All he needed was 0.264 seconds to fetch the ball and shoot it accurately at the stumps. On the second ball of the 13th over from Kagiso Rabada, Warner pushed it around and was off for a quick single, his partner Marsh responded as well. Rabada tried to get to the ball but just then realized the fielder around Bavuma was in a far better position and left it up to him.
He dived, collected the ball, threw it while he was still in the air, all at one go and also managed to hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end to catch David Warner short of his way back in. The Australian opener who is quick between the wickets and usually prefers to dive in case it appears risky but he looked sure he was safe and so just dragged his bat through.
Aleem Dar went up to the third umpire and replays suggested the throw was just in time while Warner’s bat was still behind the line and the South African team erupted in joy. They knew it was a big wicket and also the way they got rid of the danger man made it even better.

The over got better towards the end as the Proteas found another success. Rabada had Marsh caught by Faf du Plessis on the last ball and with that, both the Aussie openers were back in the pavilion.
