Cricket has been a game which has always managed to bring the best out of the audience. The fan support has played a crucial role over the years. For a country like India, it wasn’t a surprise when crowds in Australia or England exceeded the local crowds as well. The same has gone for Pakistan and Bangladesh over the years regarding the crazy fan following there.
The Barmy Army from England is a great example of how fans get together behind the team. They have displayed a perfect rendition of how support can play an important role in motivating players on the ground. They also don’t miss any opportunity in undermining the opposition. Various chants have also been created to distract players which is quite often seen as a fun element to the game.
Sometimes these fans also have entertaining placards. And when it catches the attraction of the big screen, the viewers, as well as the cricketers, get a good laugh out of it. A placid example of the same is some girl who proposed Zaheer Khan with a banner. The incident was quite entertaining for the crowd as well as the cricketers.
In the ongoing Sri Lankan tour of India, a funny incident took place. In what was the second Test at the Nagpur stadium, two sisters managed to garner everyone’s attention with their banners. The sisters who were identical twins had an entertaining message on their placards.
While one placard read “I am older than my sister”, the other one read, “I am younger than my sister”. It was surely something entertaining to read in a Test match that had been a completely one-sided encounter. It amused many viewers who applauded the light humour.
Even the BCCI Twitter account couldn’t resist posting the video. They captioned it as ‘No Confusion’ as fans liked the creativity.
Here’s what they tweeted:
