Watch: Why even after the tiffs cricket is a gentleman’s game: Tiffs since the very beginning have been a part of cricket. The gentleman’s game has seen arguments and fights, since a long time and it still continues. But there are a few cricketers who along with being elegant players are incredible human beings.
The match between arch rivals Australia and England heated up when Simon Jones the English fast bowler fielded his ball on follow through and in reflex threw it back towards Mathew Hayden who was the batsman on-strike. The ball went on to hit the Australian opener, Hayden who snapped back at Simon, his apology made no difference. He went on to curse Simon for his action.
The second incident the one between Australia and Pakistan when Brett Lee the on-strike batsman lost his balance and fell on the crease while trying to play a no ball delivered by Abdul Razzaq the Pakistani all-rounder. The delivery pissed Lee he didn’t look happy and expressed his feelings with a stare and murmur.
The third incident again involves a legendary Australian name. Ricky Ponting snaps at Javagal Srinath the Indian medium pace bowler when his delivery went on to hit Ponting on the grills of his helmet. He screamed at Srinath asking him the go ball from a distance.
The last video however proves why cricket is still called the gentleman’s game. Some cricketers from around the world have kept their cool and maintain the decorum of the game. One such name is that of the Willow Prince Sachin Tendulkar.
Brett Lee’s ball lands directly on Tendulkar’s shoulder and for a change, this time the reaction from the batsman was a smile with it’s okay attitude. The Master Blaster was playing on 117 runs, but he kept his calm and Lee stepped forward again for an apology from behind the stumps came the apology of another gentleman Adam Gilchrist.
