India A played the first warm-up game against England XI yesterday at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai. The team was led by former skipper MS Dhoni and this was the last time he was captaining the Men in Blue. Once it was official Dhoni’s farewell as skipper had taken over a lot of attention from the game and a strong crowd turned out to witness his magic as Indian captain for one last time. But the English team did manage to spoil the party as they won the match by 7 wickets.
After the conclusion of the game in which both Dhoni and his long time mate Yuvraj Singh scored half centuries, the Punjab lad shared a short interview with the former skipper on his Instagram profile. Yuvi says tell us about your journey, “The journey has been good, fantastic. It’s good to have players like you, the job becomes much more easier and I enjoyed my 10 years hopefully I can enjoy more whatever I have.” Said Dhoni.
Then the allrounder said, “He (Dhoni) was the best captain ever, I would like to tell you that and it’s been amazing playing under you, winning three big championships – winning the World Cup and being the No.1 Test team.”
Dhoni doesn’t let him finish his praise, interrupts him and says, “Thanks to you, I witnessed the 6 sixes at the best seat.” Yuvi replied, “Thanks mate! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to go and slog as always.”

He almost forgot his last question but stressed a bit and remembered. “Now, since you are not the captain, are you going to hit more sixes?” asked Yuvi
Dhoni being Dhoni in his modest style said, “Let’s see, if they bowl in my areas, the right areas and the situation permits, I will look to hit sixes.”

Earlier ahead of the game Yuvraj talked about MSD and his captaincy. “I think he’s been an extremely good captain for India. We’ve won World Cup and the Champions Trophy under him. We were the No. 1 Test team under him. These are amazing achievements and I’m not sure how many [other] captains have that,” Yuvraj said.
“I think he took a very good decision stepping down because I’m sure he felt that it’s [time for] the next guy to take over before the World Cup and I’m sure he saw that in Virat.

“He has a lot to contribute as a player in the team. I think he’s gonna play the way he used to. We were both very fearless when we used to play together, so hopefully we can do the same in the upcoming series.”
