Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have been best mates on and off the field. Their friendship has grown over the years and they have been the pillars of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL. Recently, the duo went live on Instagram where they talked about their personal lives and many other things. While in conversation, De Villiers pointed out that Anushka Sharma‘s presence has made the Indian batsman a bit more balanced. Kohli too echoed his sentiments and credited his wife for always being there for him.
AB de Villiers said that he was happy when Anushka Sharma came into Virat Kohli’s life. He also recalled that a season before that happened, he and Kohli would bat for hours in the nets. However, with Anushka in his life, there was something which could keep Kohli away from the practice.
“We all were so happy when you met Anushka. The one season before you guys met, we hit about one billion balls in the net. Now, at least there is someone who can keep him away from cricket for a change. You always had me prove at the long cover, as you want to practice playing some balls and I was like this guy is never going to stop.
Then Anushka came in – and now there is a bit of balance – there is a bit of patience, we have chat, we have lunch at restaurants – we still hit a lot of cricket balls, but there is a balance now,” the former South Africa cricketer said.
It was meant to be, Virat Kohli says about him being with Anushka
Virat Kohli then went on to respond stating that his passion for the game hasn’t changed really but things have started falling into perspective as he has found a life partner who is meant for him. The Indian captain also said that he is grateful that they both found each other.
“The passion is always going to be there but when you find a life partner who is just meant to be for you, things fall into perspective by themselves. You start believing it’s just not about being obsessed about one thing in life. It’s a good thing to be passionate, but love has to be the most important thing in life, and everything else follows. Everything has to run in balance. I am grateful I found her, she found me. It was meant to be,” the 31-year-old said.
