'We are glad we lost that match' - CSK hilariously trolls RCB on Twitter
RCB hasn't won a single IPL trophy in the 12 seasons.
Amid COVID-19 pandemic, BCCI has postponed the IPL 2020 tournament for an indefinite period. The chances are quite slim that the tournament will be organized in 2020. Moreover, the ongoing lockdown has made the situation worse from the perspective of the IPL governing council.
However, people in the country have got some relief after the government announced the re-opening of liquor shops in the country. But, Chennai is one of the cities where people have not got any such relaxations due to a sudden increase in COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, CSK has come out trolling RCB for their poor run in IPL history.
Royal Challengers Bangalore hold a huge fanbase across the globe. Moreover, they always had a strong and star-studded line-up but never managed to get their hands on the prestigious trophy. Every year, they come out with a strong team, and fans expect them to win their maiden IPL title but that never happened. In the last couple of seasons, RCB performed quite badLY and ended up on 6th and 8th positions respectively in 2018 and 2019 edition.
CSK takes a dig at RCB’s poor run in IPL
This year the fans again had an expectation from RCB but COVID-19 outbreak splashed water on their hopes. The tournament that was scheduled to begin from March 29 was postponed by BCCI amid lockdown in the country. Recently, the Modi government initiated some relaxations in these alarming conditions and gave permission to reopen the liquor shops in different states.
Meanwhile, the recent reports say that the liquor shops in Chennai didn’t open due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu. However, that was not the case in Bangalore where people bought liquor in a wholesale manner.
So, CSK came out and took a dig at RCB’s poor run in IPL. They took to their official Twitter handle and shared a post that read, “So much chatter about Chennai competing with Bangalore vis-à-vis liquor sales. With the latest announcement, we are glad we lost that match even before it began, for battles in the present universe are more important.”
Earlier, H. Nagesh, the Excise Minister had already announced that the liquor shops in Bangalore and Mysore including the red-zone will be kept open except the hotspot areas listed by the state government.
