Australia are currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) involved in the five-match ODI series against Pakistan. They have already won the contest by winning the first three matches of the series and will be looking to continue the winning momentum. However, more than their victory, the bromance between Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis has been the talk of the town over the last few days.
During the second ODI, both the cricket were caught on the cameras showing their affection towards each other while sitting in the dressing room. Even the video of the same went viral immediately. And to add fuel to it, Stoinis posted a couple of Instagram stories ahead of the third ODI on Wednesday. In one of the stories, Zampa was seen kissing Stoinis’ cheek and once the social media took the developments by storm.
Now, Stoinis himself has broken the silence on the matter and while having a laugh on it, clarified that they are very good mates. He also added that there is good bonding in the group and the members are very close to each other.
We have got a good bond in the group
“We are good mates, that sort of stuff gets you through long tours and all that sort of thing. A bit of banter, a bit of laugh. You can’t take yourself too seriously. We have got a good bond in the team and there’s a good group,” Marcus Stoinis was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
Meanwhile, Stoinis is struggling with a fractured thumb and was used minimally in the first three matches of the series. It will be interesting to see if he will play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as the World Cup is set to follow soon after the tournament.
