The New Zealand cricket team will square off against the Bangladesh side in five-match T20I series on Bangladesh soil. This series will get underway on 1st September 2021, and all the matches of this series will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

New Zealand fast bowler Hamish Bennett feels that the Kiwi side should be ready for turning pitches that will make them uncomfortable in Bangladesh. Bennett further added that when Bangladesh tours New Zealand, the pitches have bounce and pace and favour the Black Caps.

Bennett further stated that the Black Caps are thankful that Australia played before New Zealand in Bangladesh, as the Kiwis now have an idea of what to expect.

“I think whenever Bangladesh comes to New Zealand, we produce bouncy and pacy ones that they find uncomfortable, and when we come over here, they will produce those that turn and ones we find uncomfortable. I think it’s great. It was fun games (against the Australians). I assume it will be the same. We are thankful for that Australia series to know how Bangladesh will approach us,” said Bennett as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

We have five days to find out if our game plan suits these kinds of wickets: Hamish Bennett

Hamish Bennett further stated that playing in the conditions on offer in Bangladesh is different from just knowing how the Bangladesh side will approach the series. The right-arm pacer concluded by stating that the Black Caps have a few days of training ahead of them to find out whether their game plan will actually suit the wickets that they will encounter in Bangladesh.

“But it is one thing knowing how they will approach us, and another thing playing in those conditions. We have four or five days of training to find out if our game plans will suit these types of wickets,” concluded Bennett.

Several first-choice players such as skipper Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, Trent Boult, and Tim Southee will not take part in the series against Bangladesh. Tom Latham will lead the Black Caps in the series against Bangladesh.
