We have managed to give few scars to the Australian team says coach Trevor Bayliss

England had their moments in the 2nd Test at the Adelaide Oval when they bowled out the Australians quickly in the second innings for 138 runs. They had the moment back when David Malan and Joe Root were building a good partnership at the fag end of the day but Malan failed to keep the wicket intact and the Australians were back.

They had upper hands during the first game as well. Skipper Joe Root had mentioned the same during the press conference. He had said that they couldn’t capitalize on crucial moments which cost them the first game.

After the second game, English coach Trevor Bayliss while speaking to BBC felt that his side has managed to leave few scars on the Australians during their loss at the Adelaide. Bayliss was speaking to BBC and said, “We have got a few scars there with the Australian team”. There will be few nervous men in the Australia side after the game felt the English coach. “There will be a few who have missed out and a few who will be nervous,” said Bayliss.

Talking about his batting side, he said, “They’ve got four good bowlers and we’ve shown we can compete with them for a period of time. We’ve just got to do it for longer.” According to Bayliss, England will have to score more than 220 runs to stand any chance in the third Test at Perth. This will put Australia under pressure. “If we do that well we can put more pressure on Australia than we did in this match,” said the coach.

England skipper Joe Root, the only English batsmen who managed a half-century spoke positively too and he said that England were “Massively in the series”. We’ve shown throughout the two Tests in periods we can outperform Australia, but just not over five days,” said skipper Root.

According to Root, If they can perform consistently well for longer periods they can win the match. “If we can perform to our ability for longer periods of time we’ll win games. The belief in the dressing room is definitely there,” said the English skipper.
