Australia will kick start their T20 World Cup campaign against South Africa on October 23 in Abu Dhabi. The Australian pacer Mitchell Starc has thus opened up on the team ahead of the start of the marquee event. He feels that the team has got their full strength and is all raring to make an impact in the tournament.

Australia hasn’t had an impressive run in the T20 format lately. The team faced defeat in the T20I series against West Indies and Bangladesh. They will thus enter this tournament having lost eight of their last ten T20Is. However, according to Starc, in the previous series, the youngsters were put into challenging positions, but now the team has full strength. He also stated that Australia is all determined to lift their maiden T20 World Cup.

“It’s a huge positive that we have got our full-strength team here available to us for the World Cup. Obviously, we didn’t have that through the West Indies and Bangladesh. It’s no secret that we haven’t won a T20 World Cup so I’m looking forward to hopefully being a part of our first one. We have got our full-strength team available. It’s up to us now. We have set out to win the World Cup. We don’t want anything less.

“We had some really young, inexperienced players and some young guys playing their first games of cricket for Australia come into some really foreign conditions and thrown in the deep end really quickly,” Starc said as reported cricket.com.

Australia is all set to play their Super 12 fixtures across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The pacer thus feels that they have a team that can make most of the conditions. He also added that he is feeling good about the setup and that all of them are aware of the preparations required for the mega event.

“In terms of our make-up, the group feels like we have covered all bases that we need to for these conditions. I am feeling good about it. We have all played enough cricket to know what we need to do to best prepare ourselves for these sorts of tournaments,” Starc added.
