The Indian side beat the England side in the first warm-up match for both teams. England batted first and posted a total of 188/5 on the board. In reply, the Indian side chased down the target with 7 wickets and an over to spare.

And now, England opener Jason Roy has opened up on England’s loss against the Indian side. Roy stated that the England outfit played well in the first warm-up match. Adding that some of the England players were playing after a long time, Roy opined that the England players should learn from their defeats quickly.

“I think we played very well as that was our first game. Some of our players were playing after a very long time. And some had played in the IPL. So the talk in the camp after the defeat that we need to learn very quickly as in this competition every game matters, every ball matters. So we have to learn pretty quickly,” said Roy after England’s second warm-up match.

We have got players with enough skill: Jason Roy

Jason Roy also stated that it is unfortunate that the England side does not have the likes of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer in their squad for the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup. However, Roy was quick to add that the England side has an impressive squad for the multi-nation tournament.

Adding that the England players have trained hard for the T20 World Cup, Roy concluded by stating that the England players have the required skill to rise to the occasion.

“It’s certainly unfortunate that we don’t have Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer for the T20 World Cup, but we have an impressive squad for the tournament. The boys have been training extremely hard. We’ve got players who have more than enough skill and they’ll rise to the occasion,” concluded Roy.

The England cricket team will play its first match of the 2021 T20 World Cup on 23rd October 2021 against the West Indies side at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
