Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) did not experience a good run in the first half of the 2021 edition of the IPL. The ‘Orange Army’ could manage to win just 1 out of the 7 matches that they played in the first half of the tournament and are languishing at the last place in the points table.

And, SRH’s overseas recruit, Rashid Khan has opined that even though the ‘Orange Army’ did not experience a good run in the first half of the tournament, the Hyderabad side is looking forward to finishing the IPL well.

Khan even added that the SRH side will treat every match that they play in the second leg of the IPL as if it is the final of the competition. The Afghanistan cricketer also added that he is happy to join his teammates, and is confident heading into the IPL after featuring in The Hundred as well as the Vitality T20 Blast.

“Definitely looking forward to the rest of the season. We did not have the ideal first half during the competition in India but we are re-united and looking forward to finish up well. Will take every game as a final for us and give 100 percent.

I am pretty happy to be back with guys in the orange army and looking forward to the rest of the season playing in the UAE. Had pretty confidence after playing in The Hundred and Vitality Blast, so looking forward to the games to be started soon and finish off well,” said Rashid Khan in a video released by the SRH side.

I have the self-belief and confidence to deliver for the team: Rashid Khan

Khan also added that he has been working on his batting skills and has been trying to find different ways to be useful for his side. The 22-year-old further reckoned that the Hyderabad players have played a lot of matches in the UAE, and know the conditions well.

Rashid concluded by stating that he has the confidence as well as the self-belief to deliver for the SRH side in the second leg of the IPL.

“From the last one and a half years, I have been working more on my batting, where the team needs it in 15,20, 25 runs. They are very crucial for the team in the target and while chasing as well. Just trying my best to do different things. I haven’t quite practiced different shots in the nets. It is just about having that kind of mindset. Wherever I hit the ball, I want to try my best to finish up well and use my wrists.

“We have played enough games in the UAE and know the conditions very well. Before going to the UK, I played here. I think one doesn’t need to change much. It is a bit about mindset like which areas are good to bowl on these wickets. You have to just bowl according to the conditions and situations. Nothing much to change. I have the self-belief and confidence to deliver for the team,” concluded Rashid Khan.
