All the cricketing countries have avoided traveling to Pakistan ever since the attacks on Sri Lankan team during their tour of Pakistan in 2009. Pakistan had adopted UAE grounds as their home grounds where they played all their home series. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) started their own T20 League 3 years back in Dubai. The first season of the league was completely played in the UAE.
Through the league where 4 overseas players feature in every team, the Pakistani board tried to revive the cricket in the country as it announced that the finals of the league will be played in Pakistan’s Lahore city’s Gaddafi stadium. The announcement saw mixed reactions from cricketers as a number of players pulled out while few of them featured in the final in Pakistan. Darren Sammy-led Peshawar Zalmi won the tournament.
For the third edition of the league, the PCB has announced that 3 of the knockout matches including the finals will be played in two cities, Karachi and Lahore in the finals.
Tymal Mills, who has been playing for the Karachi Kings side alongside Shahid Afridi was recently asked If the English bowler would like to travel to Pakistan If his side makes it to finals of the league.
