'Weight loss karao iska' - Fans mock Suresh Raina on weight issues as his chubby pic grabs attention on internet

Former India batter Suresh Raina is an integral member of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Often the southpaw is the one who bails the team out of trouble or plays the sheet anchor role in the middle-order. Fondly called as ‘Chinna Thala’ by CSK followers, Raina is an asset for the franchise in yellow.

The second phase of the 14^th edition of IPL is set to begin in the UAE from September 19 and CSK were one of the teams to reach early in Dubai to start preparation for the remainder of their matches. During the first half of IPL, CSK bounced back strongly after a dismal showing in 2020 to be placed second on the points table. The team found their mojo with the likes of Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, and Ravindra Jadeja performing well.

Raina could not set the stage on fire as he usually does and will be eager to bounce back during the UAE leg of IPL. With CSK players sweating it out in training they shared a picture of ‘Chinna Thala’ on Twitter. Raina can be seen smiling in the photo and gave a fitting caption: ‘Chinna smile for you.’

But what caught the attention of the onlookers was how chubby Raina was looking.  Several users also commented on the post asking the southpaw to shed some weight and get in shape before the IPL begins on September 19.

Suresh Raina wants CSK to win IPL for MS Dhoni

Apart from Mumbai Indians, CSK are one of the most powerful teams in the IPL winning three titles. But Raina wants CSK to win one more title for their ‘Thala’ in the 2021 edition. MS Dhoni has been steering the ship of the team since 2008 and has been instrumental in helping CSK reach the finals a staggering eight times.

“Hopefully, when we go to Dubai, we will have a camp and we can again win it for him. I think the way we were playing this year, we were having some extra confidence from his captaincy and he was enjoying each other’s success. He was giving freedom to all the players and having Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo, and Ruturaj in the side, we had the momentum. Hopefully, we can do it again this year for MS,” Raina said on Star Sports’ Cricket Connected.
